Silent

Have you ever experienced a moment in your life when you just ran out of words and you go...S i l e n t???

Let me assist you in recalling... ....

the moment when you left your home for the first time and you look back at your parents who are worried that their son/daughter are leaving them yet happy that their child took the first step towards independence. .....

the moment when the girl/boy you like most.. smiled back at you! You don't say anything.. you just smile back.. .....

the moment when you get better marks than you expected... those "numb" moments of ecstasy n surprise "is that true?"... .....

the moment when you are parting with your old friend(s) and the train has just started... and you are standing on the door of the wagon.. waving "bye-bye" with your heart beating fast... ... ..

the moment after the HR manager has just called you and told you,"You are through! Congrats!" .....

the moment when you sit alone in your room after having told everyone that you cleared that exam you prepared for 6 months!!

You can go on remembering your "special" moments!

I had always wondered why I never said anything to myself at those moments.. as if it was "understood"... happiness, joy, pain.. all feelings just flowed ceaselessly in the 'years' that passed in those flash moments!

They say.. the best way to communicate is through "silence". Love. Joy. Grief. Surprise. Anger. Hope. Expectations. Support. Non-cooperation...

Can you imagine the importance of a silent moment in a song?? When Bryan Adams stops for a while along with music, before he goes on in his husky voice... ..... Please forgive me. I can't stop loving you!

Ever had those moments when you thought you were tired enough that you reach for your bed after dinner.. but find yourself wide awake looking at the roof of your room silently... But you sure are 'thinking'... those moments of self-talk are the most important in our lives.

Those moments when we listen to our own hearts!

Those promises... those decisions... those are the moments when we make our destinies!

Next time you go silent...
listen carefully to what your heart is saying..
listen to its joy...
listen to its pain..
listen to its fears..
listen to its desires..
and Be in touch with your true self...

An Apple

A teacher teaching Maths to seven-year-old Arnav asked him, “If I give you one apple and one apple and one apple, how many apples will you have?”Within a few seconds Arnav replied confidently, “Four!”

The dismayed teacher was expecting an effortless correct answer (three). She was disappointed. “Maybe the child did not listen properly,” she thought. She repeated, “Arnav, listen carefully. If I give you one apple and one apple and one apple, how many apples will you have?”

Arnav had seen the disappointment on his teacher’s face. He calculated again on his fingers. But within him he was also searching for the answer that will make the teacher happy. His search for the answer was not for the correct one, but the one that will make his teacher happy. This time hesitatingly he replied, “Four…”

The disappointment stayed on the teacher’s face. She remembered that Arnav liked strawberries. She thought maybe he doesn’t like apples and that is making him loose focus. This time with an exaggerated excitement and twinkling in her eyes she asked, “If I give you one strawberry and one strawberry and one strawberry, then how many you will have?”

Seeing the teacher happy, young Arnav calculated on his fingers again. There was no pressure on him, but a little on the teacher. She wanted her new approach to succeed. With a hesitating smile young Arnav enquired, “Three?”

The teacher now had a victorious smile. Her approach had succeeded. She wanted to congratulate herself. But one last thing remained. Once again she asked him, “Now if I give you one apple and one apple and one more apple how many will you have?”

Promptly Arnav answered, “Four!”

The teacher was aghast. “How Arnav, how?” she demanded in a little stern and irritated voice.

In a voice that was low and hesitating young Arnav replied, “Because I already have one apple in my bag.”

“When someone gives you an answer that is different from what you expect. Don’t think they are wrong. There maybe an angle that you have not understood at all. You will have to listen and understand, but never listen with a predetermined notion.”

Beauty of life

I recently happen to see this in one of the forwards....
I felt it worth sharing.........................

After 21 years of marriage, my wife wanted me to take another woman outto dinner and a movie. She said I love you but I know this other womanloves you and would love to spend some time with you.The other woman that my wife wanted me to visit was my MOTHER, who hasbeen a widow for 19 years, but the demands of my work and my threechildren had made it possible to visit her only occasionally. That night I called to invite her to go out for dinner and a movie.'What's wrong, are you well,' she asked? My mother is the type of womanwho suspects that a late night call or a surprise invitation is a signof bad news.'I thought that it would be pleasant to be with you,' I responded. 'Justthe two of us.'She thought about it for a moment, and then said, 'I would like thatvery much.'That Friday after work, as I drove over to pick her up I was a bitnervous. When I arrived at her house, I noticed that she, too, seemed to benervous about our date. She waited in the door with her coat on. She hadcurled her hair and was wearing the dress that she had worn to celebrateher last wedding anniversary. She smiled from a face that was as radiant as an angel's.'I told my friends that I was going to go out with my son, and they wereimpressed, 'she said, as she got into the car. 'They can't wait to hearabout our meeting'. We went to a restaurant that, although not elegant, was very nice and cozy. My mother took my arm as if she were the FirstLady. After we sat down, I had to read the menu. Large print. Half way throughthe entries, I lifted my eyes and saw Mom sitting there staring at me. Anostalgic smile was on her lips.'It was I who used to have to read the menu when you were small,' shesaid.'Then it's time that you relax and let me return the favor,' Iresponded.During the dinner, we had an agreeable conversation - nothingextraordinary, but catching up on recent events of each other's life. Wetalked so much that we missed the movie. As we arrived at her house later, she said, 'I'll go out with you again, but only if you let me invite you.' I agreed.'How was your dinner date?' asked my wife when I got home. 'Very nice.Much more so than I could have imagined,' I answered.A few days later, my mother died of a massive heart attack. It happenedso suddenly that I didn't have time to do anything for her. Some time later, I received an envelope with a copy of a restaurantreceipt from the same place mother and I had dined. An attached note said: 'I paid this bill in advance. I wasn't sure thatI could be there; but nevertheless, I paid for two plates - one for youand the other for your wife. You will never know what that night meantfor me.I love you, son.'At that moment, I understood the importance of saying in time: 'I LOVEYOU!' and to give our loved ones the time that they deserve. Nothing inlife is more important than God and your family. Give them the time theydeserve, because these things cannot be put off till 'some other time.

The beauty of life does not depend on how happy you are but how happy others can be because of you!
